A new guided journey and readiness assessment help teams recognize when an expert-built workbook has become shared infrastructure—and evaluate the transition without pretending every spreadsheet should move.
Evidence boundaryPublished Grid FYI experience · Uses authored scenarios and a structured readiness assessment; it does not claim automatic workbook conversion, customer outcomes, or product-runtime performance.
What became possible
Teams can now follow one approachable path from a familiar workbook problem to a bounded evaluation of shared-model readiness.
The journey uses financial forecasting, supply planning, and governed reporting to show when a private file begins behaving like organizational infrastructure. A side-by-side architecture comparison then keeps the business rule constant while showing the difference between five separate implementations and five permitted views of one governed model.
Who this helps
Domain experts whose models are depended on beyond their immediate team
Finance and planning leaders reconciling several versions of one operating assumption
Operations teams translating one change across sheets, schedules, and reports
Technology leaders evaluating where shared logic is more useful than another application rewrite
What changed in the evaluation workflow
The new path connects four activities that previously lived apart:
Recognize the threshold where a workbook has become shared infrastructure.
Inspect three fictional but concrete operating scenarios.
Compare private implementations with governed surfaces of one shared model.
Use a printable readiness assessment to define scope, authority, evidence, and acceptance criteria.
Evidence and limitations
The scenarios and comparison are authored illustrations. They do not show a customer deployment, claim arbitrary workbook conversion, or imply that parity proves an existing workbook correct. Macros, external links, source governance, policy, permissions, acceptance criteria, and operating ownership still require customer-controlled review.
A new interactive Course Echo scenario shows how one capacity revision changes a plan, exposes stale views, tests authored alternatives, and stops visibly at human authority.
Evidence boundaryPublished interactive scenario · Demonstrates declared model behavior in Grid FYI; it is not a live deployment or runtime benchmark.
What became possible
Visitors can now change one source fact in a compact planning scenario and watch its consequences move through the modeled decision.
Course Echo begins with six transports and six required movements. The plan completes in one wave with five minutes of margin. An updated logistics revision reduces available transport to five. That one-unit change forces a second wave, moves completion outside the decision window, and makes the original plan infeasible.
What the lab makes visible
The identity, time, and revision of the changed fact
The dependency path from capacity to plan feasibility
The difference between a current source and stale operational views
Why two authored alternatives fail
Why the remaining branch is only conditionally feasible
Where computation must stop and accountable authority must begin
Boundaries
The fixture is fictional and deterministic. Its alternatives are predefined, and its timings are not performance claims. It demonstrates how to reason about a changing modeled decision without implying a live deployment, global optimization, or operational authorization.
New use-case journeys connect the central Grid idea to recognizable business problems, deeper explanations, films, evidence boundaries, and relevant developer guidance.
Evidence boundaryPublished FYI experience · Describes this public editorial release, not a change to the Grid runtime.
What changed
Grid FYI now treats films as one part of a larger explanation system. Visitors can begin with a recognizable problem, move through a concrete use case, read a deeper article or white paper, inspect the evidence boundary, and follow a contextual link into Grid Developers.
Why it matters
Grid is broad by design. A film can make the central idea memorable, but different visitors need different routes into its meaning. An operations leader may begin with a changing plan. An AI leader may begin with human authority. A spreadsheet owner may begin with the cost of maintaining private copies.
The new structure lets each visitor begin with the work rather than the content format.
Available now
Three canonical use-case journeys
An Insights collection for articles, white papers, and field briefs
Complete, permanent editorial pages with readable evidence labels
Contextual connections to films and Grid developer guidance
A purpose-led What’s New publication
This is the first release of the broader FYI publishing system. Additional applications and collateral will be added through the same reusable structure.
