Release at a glance
Grid FYI's education-and-research collection now has a documented evaluation path: a detailed use case, two complementary long-form papers, a portable ten-page white paper, relevant films, and this permanent release record. The collection is designed for a research lead, methods reviewer, instructor, repository team, or technical evaluator who needs more than an abstract category claim.
Trace a Research Claim from Source to Reviewed Release is the practical center. It follows a wholly synthetic result from a frozen analysis plan and roster through an accepted source correction, exact recalculation, stale table and prose states, role-specific review, and an immutable successor release. It includes six inspectable tables, explicit failure injections, and a ten-part acceptance packet. The arithmetic is intentionally transparent: the baseline is 70/100, the corrected result is 55/85, and a predeclared two-thirds gate changes from pass to fail without relying on rounded percentages.
Three levels of depth
Make the Structure Visible is the compact starting paper. It explains why a polished result can hide its sources, assumptions, exclusions, uncertainty, and revision history. A new six-stage exhibit moves from question and plan through evidence, execution, claim, review, and release. A role table separates source stewardship, methods review, analysis, instruction, and release authority.
The Auditable Executable Paper is the category-level deep dive. It places the connected research object in the lineage of computational documents, repositories, provenance standards, research-object packaging, citation metadata, contributor roles, and journal interchange. It tests the same invariant across contrasting scholarly forms without implying that one runtime replaces notebooks, statistical packages, archives, instruments, repositories, peer review, or publication systems.
The new circulation-ready edition distills that architecture into ten designed letter-size pages with selectable text, vector diagrams, worked tables, live source links, explicit limits, and a canonical link back to the maintained online paper. Its claim spine separates source, method, run, claim, review, and release. A correction diagram shows why an accepted successor must not overwrite the release readers originally received.
The web paper remains the canonical accessible reading surface and holds the complete discussion and reference set. The PDF is a stable circulation artifact. It does not claim tagged-PDF or Section 508 conformance, and it should not be treated as the complete research object it describes.
What the synthetic correction teaches
The Cedar Methods Exercise asks one bounded descriptive question over generated practice records. Its accepted plan includes only research profiles and uses an exact integer comparison for a two-thirds threshold. A corrected roster identifies fifteen calibration profiles that had been misclassified as research profiles. Because the original plan already excludes that account type, the change is a source correction under the accepted method, not a post-hoc exclusion.
That correction must reach more than a cell. It changes the eligible set, run, cohort row, total, claim wording, abstract sentence, review state, and release relationship. The earlier release stays immutable and citable; the corrected release links back to it. If a threshold, exclusion, or missing-data rule changes after the result is known, the exercise requires a new method revision and disclosure rather than allowing the change to masquerade as corrected data.
The use case also names who may act. A data steward may accept a source correction without approving the method. An analyst may recompute without approving the analyst's own release. A methods reviewer can decide whether the accepted plan was followed without impersonating a source-system owner or publisher. An AI assistant may propose mappings, tests, or wording, but it cannot approve evidence, methods, authorship, peer review, or release.
Exact evidence boundary
The materials synthesize public National Academies, IES, NIH, OSTP, W3C, RO-Crate, DataCite, NISO, CFF, JATS, FAIR, eLife, and related sources. Those organizations do not describe or endorse Grid. Their guidance and standards have distinct scopes; citing them does not establish universal applicability or conformance. This release does not ship a runnable Cedar dataset, analysis plan, execution environment, provenance graph, or correction package; those remain explicitly specified evaluation artifacts to build and test in a later implementation stage.
Replaying the synthetic fixture can support a bounded statement about reconstruction and change propagation under the declared inputs, method, environment, roles, and tolerances. It does not establish scientific validity, empirical replication, causal identification, construct validity, generalizability, research-integrity or privacy compliance, appropriate authorship, peer review, journal acceptance, repository acceptance, institutional adoption, instructional effectiveness, research productivity, or impact.
How to verify this release
Open the use case and independently reproduce both arithmetic states and exact gate comparisons. Confirm that its failure cases include silent source overwrite, post-hoc method changes, incomplete staleness, unauthorized approval, strengthened AI wording, lost release identity, restricted-data exposure, and unvalidated standards claims. Open both Insights and confirm that they link to each other, the use case, and the same portable paper.
Open the PDF and inspect all ten pages, the distinct diagrams, the Cedar correction table, source annotations, metadata, and the canonical link. Open the Education and research domain page and confirm that use cases, Insights, resources, films, and release history are all populated without duplicating the PDF.
Public means that these Grid FYI pages and the PDF ship together at stable routes in this site build. It is an editorial availability statement, not evidence that the proposed research workflow exists in a customer, institution, journal, repository, or production environment.

The Auditable Executable Paper
Grids' strongest academic category is the auditable executable paper: a living research object in which every important number, figure, and claim can explain its source, assumptions, revisions, contradictions, review, authorization, and reproduction path.
